Hi. This is Mayor Mike Cahill with three important messages. First, as Commissioner Collins said in his earlier phone call, with the impending snow storm hitting overnight and snowing possibly right through the day tomorrow, we will have a parking ban from tonight until Friday morning. Also, City Hall will be closed tomorrow, and we hope to open on Friday morning.
Second, the City of Beverly will offer free COVID tests for Beverly residents only this Sunday, December 20th from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Lynch Park. We encourage you as strongly as we can to pre-register online for the testing via the Cataldo Ambulance registration link. This link can be found on our city website – www.beverlyma.gov – and clicking on the COVID-19 button. To all, please come to the testing site as close to your appointment time as possible; this will help to alleviate long lines and wait times. Also, everyone who is in line prior to 1:00 P.M. will receive a test – and please note this is a drive up only testing site.
Third, with the increased number of positive COVID-19 cases in Beverly, Essex County and across the state, contact tracing in all communities including ours has been impacted. Even if you have tested positive or know yourself to be a close contact of someone who has tested positive, you may not be contacted by a contact tracer. If you have been exposed to someone with COVID for 15 minutes or more within six feet - with or without a mask - you are a close contact and must quarantine for a minimum of 10 days. Please note that there is a test-out option for leaving quarantine on Day 8 that you can discuss with the health department. If you have tested positive for COVID, you should isolate from everyone, including other members of your household, in order to reduce transmission to others. If you have not received a call or text from a Public Health Nurse or a contact tracer, please call the Beverly Health Department at 978-921-8591 or the Community Tracing Collaborative at 857-305-2728. Up-to-date information about Isolation and Quarantine can be found on the city website by clicking on the COVID-19 button.
Thank you, All. I hope you have a restful evening and stay safe and well.
