Hi. This is Mayor Mike Cahill with a brief Thursday night update. I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. As more people are going in to their workplaces, as more of our kids are back in school, and more city buildings are open to and offering services to the public, it remains so very important that we continue to respect the novel coronavirus, and that we take precautions every day to prevent the virus from spreading.
So, whether you are going to work or to school, out for a walk or out to dinner, please always bring and wear a mask, keep your distance from each other, and wash your hands often. And please – if you don’t feel well – stay at home. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, call your doctor and get tested. And while you are waiting for the results of your COVID test, which hopefully will come back quickly and hopefully will be negative, all members of your household need to quarantine at home until you hear.
This virus has been here in our midst since last winter, and our best defenses are still these – wear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands, stay at home when sick. In part because of the great collective efforts of so many of us, in Beverly we are currently seeing a very low transmission rate of the virus. And with the beautiful outdoor weather, we can currently get out and be more active. Please do get outside – and as you do, remember that we remain responsible to each other – to keep our families, friends, and neighbors healthy and safe. Even though we all want to be done with the virus, it is still here, and we need to stay strong and vigilant. So please keep being the caring community Beverly always is – it really matters.
Thank you, Everyone. Have a nice evening.
