Dye Testing

The City of Beverly in conjunction with Dewberry Engineers has contracted Flow Assessment Services to conduct Sewer System Dye Testing of select residences and businesses. This testing aims to locate sources of storm water into the City’s sewer system. During the testing, water and non-toxic, fluorescent dye will be introduced into property drainage features. The sewers adjacent to the property will then be monitored for presence of the fluorescent dye. Depending on the location of the drains, entry into the building may be required to confirm internal piping configuration and discharge location.

As a participant in this Sewer System Dye Testing study, you will be helping the City achieve the following goals, which also have a direct benefit to you.

1) Reduced risk of sewer backups and overflows

2) Reduced volume of treated wastewater

3) Reduced wear and tear on City’s sewer infrastructure

The City would like to conduct Sewer System Dye Testing at your property. Testing will be performed by Flow Assessment Services between Monday, November 27, 2023, and Friday, December 15, 2023, from 8am to 4pm.

Flow Assessment Services will be following up with a phone call to confirm your availability. If you have not received a call by Friday, December 1, 2023, or if you have any questions regarding the work, please call Flow Assessment Services at 1-888-311-9799.

Flow Assessment Services personnel will carry identification badges, a copy of this notice, and will be driving large red cube vans with prominently displayed Flow Assessment Services markings. We request your cooperation with the Flow Assessment Services personnel. The dye testing work should take 15-45 minutes to complete.
