Check out our Story Map here! This educational resource was developed by Salem Sound CoastWatch to show and tell the story of resilience along the Bass River District.
In 2023, the City launched a study to better understand the risk posed by coastal flooding in the Bass River District. This study built upon the 2017 coastal vulnerability assessment and has helped to shape the future of the Bass River District by proposing flood resilience solutions to address the variety of uses of the district, including critical infrastructure and utilities, marine and recreation uses, and coastal resource areas.
This project was generously funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Grant.
