Part-time Library Assistant (Outreach)

Hours: 14 hours per week (Monday-Friday), flexible hours
Salary: $12.61 to start

 

Minimum professional qualifications: Associates Degree preferred, High School required

Summary: The Library Assistant (Outreach) works under the general supervision of the Bookmobile Librarian.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for outreach delivery to senior housing centers and homebound patrons.

Provides reader’s advisory service to homebound patrons and senior housing centers.

Performs circulation duties for homebound and senior housing center patrons.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other staff members.

Communicates effectively with the public.

Assists bookmobile librarian.

Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Other duties as assigned.

The employee must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
