The next meeting of the BEVERLY MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE will take place on Tuesday, October 4 at 5PM in the contractors trailer at the site of the new middle school, 502 Cabot Street. It will begin at 5 PM with a tour of the site. Please wear appropriate clothing for a construction site (no open toed shoes).
The City of Beverly has embarked upon an exciting and much-needed effort to design and construct a new middle school. It will give students a learning environment enriched with the tools necessary to provide the highest quality educational experience. The City, in conjunction with the Beverly Public Schools District, is working with the Massachusetts School Building Authority(MSBA) to make this project a reality. The MSBA is a quasi-independent government authority that provides communities with a significant portion of the funding necessary for the construction of public schools in Massachusetts. The MSBA has developed detailed procedures (8 modules or phases) that each community must follow in order to obtain the required funding and complete the project.
This web page has been created with the intention of providing citizens with up-to-date information about this process. Links to the left will direct you to a list of Beverly Middle School Building Committee members along with their meeting agendas and minutes; an introduction to the development team including the owner’s project manager, Heery International, and the designer, Ai3 Architects; a calendar that includes milestones, and; a document library. As the project progresses we will post photos of construction and any news highlighting recent developments as it becomes available.
If you have any questions about the project please do not hesitate to contact Denise Deschamps, City of Beverly, at 978-605-2356 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
