SAVE THE DATE for a public meeting to view potential design scenarios for improvements around the Beverly Depot Station.
Location: City Hall Council Chambers
The City received a Housing Choice Initiative Capital Grant to conduct feasibility, design, and engineering (up to 30% design) to transform the Beverly Depot Train Station and the adjacent area into a Multi-modal Mobility Hub. Nelson/Nygaard was hired to perform this study in early 2019. The scope of work includes an existing conditions analysis, multi-modal needs assessment, alternatives development, implementation plan, and a public meeting. The study will help Beverly identify the necessary improvements, services, and placemaking to make the Beverly Depot area safer, more comfortable, and easier to navigate.
WHAT IS A MOBILITY HUB?
Mobility Hubs are more than your typical transit stations or park & rides. They are welcoming, well-designed places where multiple modes of transportation converge to make transit service more attractive and inviting rather than a last resort.
This Mobility Hub concept was recommended in MAPC’s North Shore Mobility Study (2017) and in Beverly’s Bass River District Vision and Action Plan (2014).
