Building Permit Fees (revised July 1, 2009)

Notes:
- Permit fees are payable at time of permit issuance
- Fees are based on the total value of construction (not on the cost) as determined by the buildng department
- For projects where a certificate of occupancy is required by the building code, the certificate of occupancy fee is included in building permit
- Work done without permit shall be double (2x) the original fee (max. additional fee $1,000)
- Fee is based on the value of the entire project, including trades.
- Construction costs are rounded to the next highest whole $1,000 (i.e. $10,200 = $11,000)
- A copy of signed contract must be provided if project is subject to HIC registration
- Fees are nor refundable once permit has been issued
- For solar panel installations, the cost of the panels is not included in the valuation (effective 9/19/11)
Sheet Metal Permit Fees
$12/$1000 for 1 and 2-family dwellings, $15/$1000 for other than 1 or 2 family dwellings (mnimum fee: $65)
Plumbing and Gas Permit Fees
Fees for permits issued under the provisions of this article shall be as follows:
COMMERICIAL

| One Hundered Dollars | ($100) first fixture |
| Ten Dollars | ($10) each additional fixture |
RESIDENTIAL - ONE AND TWO-FAMILY DWELLINGS
| Twenty-Five Dollars | ($25) for a single fixture |
| Fifty Dollars | ($50) first fixtur |
| Five Dollars | ($5) each additional fixture |
Reinspection fee if work not up to code ($50)
Fines: Any work started without obtaining a permit or proper notification to inspector shall be subject to permit fee being doubled.
An additional fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be charged for each permit for applications requested through the mail.
