PAVING RELATED UPDATES

***8/20/18 UPDATE***

Butman St – Binder pavement is scheduled for Monday August 20th and sidewalk work to begin soon.

Grover St – Structures scheduled to be adjusted the end of the week and pavement will be scheduled ASAP.

Lovett St – Reclaim operations will begin on Tuesday August 14th and should be finished grading the new road base by August 15-20th. Binder pavement is scheduled on Tuesday-Wednesday August 21-22 and sidewalks will be completed soon.

Ocean St – Binder pavement is scheduled for Tuesday August 21st. Sidewalk crew will begin late summer/early fall.

Essex St – Sidewalk contractor to begin demo and installing new curb the week of August 27th.

Nelson Ave – Reclaim operations will begin on Thursday August 16-17th and should be finished grading the new road base by August 21st. Binder pavement is scheduled for Thursday August 23rd and completion of sidewalk work to begin soon after.

Railroad Ave – Reclaim operations will begin on Wednesday August 15th and should be finished grading the new road base by August 16-20th. Binder pavement is scheduled to begin on Wednesday August 22nd. Sidewalk crew to begin in early/mid Sept.

Tozer Rd – Pavement grinding operations is scheduled for Monday August 20th. Pavement will be scheduled ASAP.

Woodland Ave – Sidewalk and curbing to be installed starting on Tuesday August 14th.

**During paving operations it is critical to the success of the project that all vehicles are off the road by 7:00am or they will be towed. Police details, City of Beverly personnel, and the Contractor Crew will be able to assist you during this process.**


 ***Important Information for those Residents affected by the Street Paving Projects***

Upon completion of the paving projects, the newly paved streets will not be permitted to be dug/opened for FIVE years (IF approved by the Engineering Department). Therefore, if there is any pending underground utility work to be performed it must be completed prior to completion of the paving project.

Examples of Underground Utility work are but not limited to:

  • Electric
  • Cable
  • Sewer (chronic issues should be addressed at this time and should be brought to the attention of the Engineering Department 978.605.2358)
  • Water (volume, pressure, and quality issues should be brought to the attention of the Water Department at this time 978.921.6057)
  • Natural Gas: In the event you do not have natural gas service and are interested in changing to natural gas, we would suggest that you contact National Grid (1-800-233-5325) to schedule your service at this time. Please notify the Engineering Department if you need assistance you with expediting your request (978.605.2358).
  • Sump Pump: If you have a sump pump it may be possible to connect to the City’s drainage infrastructure. Call the Engineering Department if you need assistance with this matter (978.605.2358).
