The Traffic Signal Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrically operated traffic control devices in the city. Traffic control devices are discussed in a document know as the MUTCD

The Division has strong ties to DISTRICT 4-MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DIVISION
 personnel. Several key intersections in the City are under the control of State Officials
