City Accountant
The Accounting Office is headed by the City Accountant and is responsible for:
- Maintenance of the general ledger and all accounting records of the City across 360+ City funds
- The preparation of all payrolls (City, School and Retirees) for approximately 1400 current and former employees and maintenance of all withholding records
- Coordination and preparation of warrants for the payment of all bills for all City funds
- Internal auditing of all records and offices of the City
- Reconciliation of all accounts including cash accounts on a regular basis
- External reporting as required by the Federal and State government and their agencies
